Pardon me

Thursday, January 10, 2013

First was the photoshoot over the weekend and subsequently 2 consecutive new mortada arrivals. I was totally burnt out. Honestly. I thought today was a Friday.

My back was breaking and sleep was minimal that I refused to do any order packing last night. I refused to take a look at the pictures of my photoshoot.

You can even tell this blog was entry-less for the past week.
Tuition classes is started to fill up my calendar.
Even Rania knew that her mummy was too busy for her that she refuses to be with anyone except me whenever I am around. She will lay her head on my chest and pat me, randomly.
And I will feel like shit guilty realizing that I may have 'abandoned' her for a few more hours than I should.

The weekend is coming soon.. but at this point of time, soon now seems draggy.

Thank you to the ladies who were all excited seeing the Mortada arrivals. Despite me raising the price by $1, to barely cover my expenditure of postage, envelopes, tapes, picture taking, the response has been awesome. About 10% of them needed to hear sad news that items were out of stocks. My apologies but I always try my best. One man show and almost 100 orders, the challenge is inevitable.

Trust me that I always give up my favourite pieces to you as well just to make you smile.

There is always challenge in business or entrepreneurship. Sometimes you earn, sometimes you lose. Most times it is very hard to quantify the effort that you put in against the amount you earn. But it always taught me to be a better person. I swear I became patient (more patient when I became a mother) and I started looking at things more strategically.

I am a different person today than I was 4 years ago when I started Her Closet.

Today, Alfi and I are looking into setting a casual lifestyle photography. Taking pictures for those who appreciates them and keeping a memory in their time capsule.
Last weekend, myself and Hakim took pictures of 4 girls met in JC and are now in the university.

Working with a cheerful group who was always ready with a smile made it very easy for us.

I am actually in a midst to build a photography blog and yes, it is not easy especially with time being a major factor.
But Insya Allah, we will get there soon enough.

Thank you Hakim for being my partner in crime for the day!

During the photoshoot, Rania managed to take a picture with a man she doesn't know but I was very excited to click.

Mr Goh really made Alfi look short!
I was clicking my camera away when I saw him approaching, then one of the bodyguards came up to me and say,"No picture taking."

That moment, Alfi went up to Mr Goh and say,"Can my daughter have a picture with you?"
Tell me which minister would say no to babies.
In your face Mr Bodyguard! *lol* but then again, I am sure he was just doing his job.
So I am not fussy like that.

Here were pictures taken during the photoshoot as well. Too pretty not to take!

Plans are that we will reveal and be fully operational in February. Let's hope things fall into place.

2013 kicked off pretty exciting and vibrant for me. Sometimes a little too vribrant. A change of job role, an offer in the ex-company, my own business plans, family planning and squeezing in family is surely an exciting turf I am on now.
But my body is just aching all over and in times like this, it is always a reminder to take a step back and breathe a little bit more.

xoxo
