Akan datang!

Friday, January 11, 2013

For those who have followed me during days before I got married, you would have a good knowledge of how close my relationship with my little sister is.
We are so close that we send mushy sister quotes to each other from time to time.
We think almost alike though that has quite changed a bit since I became a wife and a mother.

We have awesome telepathy that our record was saying a sentence with 8 words in unison. Then we will look at each other, mouth opened wide and giving the 'excuse me' look, insisting we were the ones who opened our gap first.

Then she started to have followers on her Instagram, people of whom she doesn't know.
She will walk into my room and ask who is who. Turns out that they are my online business clients or my followers in any of my social media network.

I kept telling her we make a good team to reach out to ladies outside. She did not buy it. It took me more than a year to convince her. She can just be stubborn like that.
She was always in a world of her own.

So a while back, she agreed that whatever I had in mind was the way to go and you cannot imagine how thankful I was when I heard those words.
It was almost instantaneously that we set up a tea appointment and got the ideas running.

It is very hard to get her time because of her work commitments but I am sure she will say the same with me because of my family, work and other things which interest me in life.

In time, you will find something very interesting in another space. No, we are not opening up another business (Alfi is telling me ENOUGH!). All we are asking is for your support and readership when we embark on the journey.

Here were us squeezing our brain juices.

Hearty weekend

Wednesday, December 5, 2012

It was a hearty weekend for me because for 2 consecutive days, my family was treated to sumptuous SEAFOOD!!
Plus, it is always a warm feeling to have family gatherings are held at the dining table. There are great people, great food (plus point for not having to cook), full of laughter and chit-chats.

The Saturday, we had our seafood in JB which I forgot the name of the restaurant. I was tired taking care of Rania who was sick and I just went for my nebulizer earlier before heading to my cousin's wedding!

Plus during the dinner, Rania was pretty clingy and refuses to sit still.
That's what happens when kids get sick. Nothing feels right.

The following day was my Lil Sister's birthday. It is her first birthday without her daddy and we were making every effort we can to make her as happy as we can.
She treated us for seafood lunch at Fisher's Tavern at Pasir Ris. The food is really nice but not as nice as the one in JB, plus do not ever go there in the day like we did.

Photobucket

It was scorching hot!
I think my blood pressure went up and needed to head to the car for a while to cool myself.

Here were the dishes we ordered

The highlight of the dish apparently was not this Chilli Crab

It was the salty egg crab.
Even the hubby was licking his fingers.

They charged us $40 per crab.
Total damaged on Lil' Sis; $180.

It still beats eating at Carousel for a change (except the no air-conditioning part)
It was really makan besar I tell you!

Here were the family!

After that we retreated to Orchard Road to get a gift for her. Still, the air con does not seem to be working because there were so many people in town!!!
I felt stuffy - even in Takashimaya!

We surely made her a happy little girl.

Photobucket

I think it is amazing how everyone in the family matched with the Christmas tree.
Denim with white top was the birthday girl's request. I told you we listened to her.

Happy birthday my little sister. You are always a gift given to me and I will treasure you for the rest of my life. You are God-sent and I can never thank Him enough for letting you be my sister.

I love you. May you always be blessed and while people may see that your life is not complete, I always believe that the one who laughs last laugh best.
I had the last laugh and I enjoyed it.

Everything will fall into place for you when the time is right.
Believe me. So sit back while you still can.

I know you enjoyed yourself and I am glad.

Sisters for life

Wednesday, October 5, 2011

I just just stumbled upon this in Facebook.

Twin girls, Brielle and Kyrie, were born 12 weeks ahead of their due date. Needing intensive care, they were placed in separate incubators.

Kyrie began to gain weight and her health stabilized. But Brielle, born only 2 lbs, had trouble breathing, heart problems and other complications. She was not expected to live.

Their nurse did everything she could to make Brielle’s health better, but nothing she did was helping her. With nothing else to do, their nurse went against hospital policy and decided to place both babies in the same incubator.

She left the twin girls to sleep and when when she returned she found a sight she could not believe. She called all the nurses and doctors and this is what they saw (refer to the picture above).

As Brielle got closer to her sister, Kyrie put her small little arm around her, as if to hug and support her sister. From that moment on, Brielle’s breathing and heart rate stabilized and her health became normal.

From then on, they decided to keep both babies together, because when they were together they kept each other alive.

For many years before I got married, this was how me and my sister slept.
When I saw this picture, I am fondly reminded of the good ol' days when I had to share my bed with my sister.
Whether we had a heaty arguement, we never woke up angry the next day.

I miss looking for her hand.
I miss shoving pillows at her everyday to wake her up for school or work or just to wake up because the parents thought we slept for too long.

We hug each other in bed both consiously and subconsiously and this was exactly the position.
For my little girl, I will definitely have a sister for her only because I know how it feels like to have one.

It is the best present my mom ever gave me.

A sister is a forever friend - MY best friend.

"Sisters annoy, interfere, criticize. Indulge in monumental sulks, in huffs, in snide remarks. Borrow. Break. Monopolize the bathroom. Are always underfoot. But if catastrophe should strike, sisters are there. Defending you against all comers.

Sisters don't need words. They have perfected a language of snarls and smiles and frowns and winks - expressions of shocked surprise and incredulity and disbelief. Sniffs and snorts and gasps and sighs - that can undermine any tale you're telling."

~ Pam Brown

"She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. Some days, she's the reason you wish you were an only child."
~Barbara Alpert

I am glad I only have 1 sister.
She is the only one I need in my life.
