Selamat Hari Raya!!!!

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Two days before raya, Daddy collected my baju kurung at Johor, only to rudely find out that my first day outfit was not sewn.
Her excuse was that there was not enough material to sew for me.

I wanted to cry there and then.

I had planned that outfit even before the husband and I got married. I bought them before I got married. I still wanted to look very pengantin baru not knowing that I will be pregnant then.

Ok, so I have gotten bigger. Still wouldn't 4 meters of material still be enough. Even if it didn't, I would really expect her to give me a call and inform me and not wait till 2 days before Hari Raya.
What magic can I do in 2 days?

I called the husband, wanting to cry. I guess that is what pregnancy hormones do to you. But the whining was short for I was busy and I got from sad to angry. Upon fetching me from work, the husband asked if I had anything to wear for Hari Raya.

Sure. I tailored 5 kurungs but that particular one was in lace and the other 4 was in silk. I wanted to wear lace on my first day of raya.
In fact, when it comes to dressing up, the husband left it all to me. What to wear on which day. He was least concern if it was something that he liked, and honestly, I like that. Fashion ideas on the loose.

But then, I became brain dead.

And really, that is where my husband really compliment me.
"Ok we head home and we see what are the other outfits you and I have and we will match it together ok. Let's not rush to find another tailor because if your outfit is ruined, then it still makes no sense."

So when we spread everything out, I managed to get the brain working.
It was supposed to be a grey and pink combination and I am glad I did not get the husband the matching samping, since we did tweak the colour a little bit.

The husband managed to stick to the intended first day outfit.

It did turn out pretty okay didn't it?

It is my first raya with the husband as a married couple. In fact, first raya ever la! When we were engaged, we did not meet much of the opposite sides of the relatives.
PANTANG!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Eid too! I am looking forward to more visitings and more food and delicacies.

p/s: My outing had to cut short to midnight because I was eating in every house that the stomach gave way and hit the toilet 4 times that night!
Serik? Hmmmm.... I think maybe after a week ok :)

So here is to wishing all my customers and regular readers a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Maaf zahir & batin.

p.s (again): It's 17 more days to the key collection. Mixed feelings ok!! Cos I will miss my Lil' Sis!
