Yes, I managed to do quite a fair bit of reading lately.
God knows how much I love reading.
When an author grips me to his first book I tasted, I will buy his books without considering the content.
Paulo Coelho, Mitch Albom, Nicholas Sparks.
I was dying to read Mitch's new release since his Tuesdays with Morrie.
It took many years.
Then 'Have a Little Faith' came by.
But only many months or almost close to a year I get my hands on it...
These authors have always managed to get me gripped and thinking one way or another.
It was this part where Mitch was spending time with a Rabbi to journalise the eulogy.
This part touches me the most:
***
Do you ever get a call from someone who isn't a member of your congregation?
"Certainly. In fact two weeks ago, I got a call from the hospital. The person said,'A dying woman has requested a rabbi,' So I went.
When I got there, I saw a man sitting in a chair beside a woman gasping for breath. "Who are you?" he said. "Why are you here?"
"I got a call." I said. "They said someone is dying and wants to speak to me."He got angry. "Take a look at her," he said. "Can she talk? I didn't call you. Who called you?"
I had no answer. So I let him rant. After a while, when he cooled down, he asked,"Are you married?"
I said yes.
He said,"Do you love your wife?"
Yes, I said
"Would you want to see her die?"
Not so long as there was hope for her to live, I said.
"We spoke for an hour. At the end I said,'Do you mind if i recite a prayer for your wife?'
He said he would appreciate that. So I did."
And then? I asked.
"And then I left."
I shook my head. He had spent an hour talking to a stranger?
Did you ever find out who called you? I asked.
"Well, not officially. But on my way out, I saw a nurse who I remembered from other visits. She was a devout Christian. When I saw her, our eyes met and even though she didn't say anything, I knew it was her."
Wait.
A Christian woman calling for a Jewish Rabbi?
"She saw a man suffering. She didn't want him to be alone."
She had a lot of guts.
"Yes," he said. "And a lot of love."

THAT touched me.
Moved me.
No religion teaches us bad.
Christianity preaches love. All religion teaches Love.
In truth, so does Islam.
Everything that we are made to do is with Love.
Love to Allah. Love to His Creations. Love to ourselves. Love to family. Love to community. Love to mankind.
God gave us a heart to feel what our 5 senses couldn't but how many of us are really using it?
How many of us placed our ego above logic?
How many of us placed our selfishness above consideration?
How many of us placed our anger above forgiveness?
They say in a marriage, when you love, you close both eyes
They say when you love yourself, you live to the fullest.
Of course we must love ourselves before we can love others.
But how many of us really have enough love to spare for others or even spare a thought for others?
Love is a two way traffic, just like your sms-es or emails or messenger chats.
When one way of the traffic halts, the other crashes.
Have you ever thought how deep the word 'Love' is?
I did.
Few years back.
It is a frustrating battle to absorb the negativity once I understood it.
That's where patience comes in and spells half of our piety.
Its all written in our lives.
How many of us really did see the bigger picture in the beauty of love?
