Microsoft Smartphone

Thursday, May 6, 2010

Business Times gave a heads-up on Microsoft upcoming phone gadget some weeks back.

My Blackberry has been such a pain.
After 3 Blackberry phones, a Pearl, Curve, followed by Bold, now I am complaining.

It is hanging on me too much.
For a smartphone, it is unable to handle my 6 emails accounts, 2 facebook and 2 twitters applications.
I have to restart my phone daily and up to 4 times a day -which is indeed a pain.

Worse, I cannot use Blackberry in Microsoft.
Something interesting I knew only when I onboarded, and respect it of course.

Many teased me to start using iPhone because everybody is using it and also it has thousands of apps.
It is a no-no for me.
Truly it is pointless. How many of you actually use even 1/8 of the applications available?
Generally, only a few of the applications are free of charge. The rest is chargeable.
Would you actually pay for it on top of your monthly data charges?

Another reason why iPhone is a no-no is because I hate touch screens.
I seriously hate touch-screens.
So period.
No HTC. No iPhone. No ACER. No SAMSUNG. No ASUS.
Not even a Blackberry Storm.
NO NO NO.

Microsoft is coming up with 2 mobile phones.
In fact, sales will launch on 13th May in the United States.
I cannot wait for them to open the purchase in Singapore.

Kin 1 and Kin 2.
Did review reads and I am so excited to purchase the Kin 1.
Suddenly slide-up phones viewing a QWERTY keypad is a turn-on.

I never fancied Windows Mobile but this will be using the new Kin OS platform.
A very social-interactive friendly phone which allows you to share pictures and even in-house music softwares.

Reviews:
"Kin One does feel solid in hand and fits easily in a trouser pocket"

"The keyboard's keys are spacious and boldly labeled"
(Very important, else it would be like touchscreens)

"The Microsoft Kin One isn't the most stylish little thing: short and squat, it looks a bit dated"
(I love the look actually)

"We were impressed with the Microsoft Kin One's 5-megapixel camera"
(I can blog & tweet and Facebook mobile upload better pictures compared to my Blackberry!!)

"Kin OS is visually pleasing and incredibly easy to navigate. The main screen, called Loop, displays your selected friends' status updates and messages as well as your favourite RSS feeds in a colourful collage of text and images. Flick to the left, and you'll see a panel of all your applications; flick right, and you'll see your contacts."

"We also liked how easy it was to share photos with your friends via the Kin "Spot". The Spot is a green circle that sits at the bottom of the user interface. If you want to share a photo, video or news story from your RSS feed, you simply drag and drop it into the Spot. You can then tap the Spot and decide whether you want to send it to your friends or upload it to one of your social networks."

"the Microsoft Kin One ships with the Zune HD media player for video and music playback. There's also an FM radio"
(Radio!!! Now you rarely find radio lor!!! and the fact that I love to listen to Class 95, this will be such a bonus!!)

"Two day battery life"
(Cool shit!! My Blackberry barely last a day!!! )

Introducing the Kin 1

Gorgeous kan!!!!

The only thing probably is a big minus for me is that Blackberry Messenger is really an in thing now.
We can bbm friends from all over the world.
Me and my dearest fiance takes pictures everywhere we go, so we are really virtually near each other.

Microsoft is pacing up to Google and Apple.
Research in Motion, Blackberry is really slacking which is really sad because I am a Blackberry fan.

You can find Kin using cloud computing is the current industry hype, came down to earth.
No, I do not need applications or games to fill up my day.
I am busy enough.
Busier now that I am my own wedding planner.

Facebook, twitter & emails already take up so much of my time.
Family and fiance is complaining that I couldn't help feeling guilty all the time.

Well, Microsoft is already looking into feature updates for Kin.
I am hoping it is a great gadget to buy once it arrives Singapore.
I believe that they can compete greatly in the market.

I really can't wait.

For now, I need a 1-to-1 exchange of my Blackberry Bold.
I still love the Blackberry Bold look and feel compared to Blackberry Bold 2.

"Dear Blackberry,

Please come out with a newer, better, bolder model.
I promise I shall be forever yours...
I have faith in you.

You... complete me."

p/s: Told you I am a self-declared bimbo, in trials of hiding the nerdy side of me :)
