I was among the last few to leave the department meeting yesterday.
Already I was so uncomfortable during the meeting.
I was multi-tasking, trying to reply some mails and I know the girl beside me was looking into my laptop.

I clicked 'Save as Draft'.
I moved on to another email. She was looking again.
It was so easy to tell from the corner of my eye.
Again, I clicked 'Save as Draft' as a reminder to go back to the email.

When meeting was adjourned, she held the door open for me.
It does not hurt to be polite so I said my thanks. That is akhlak by the way.
She walked beside me and to my disgust, shock and anger, she asked me,"You are always not in office is it?"

I gave her a sharp look and said that if I have been.
I mean if I wasn't in the IBM office, I would have been at client's site having meetings.

My voice was sharp and cold,"Why?"

"Oh no..," she let out a tiny laugh "Just asking."

"Were you looking for me in the first place?"
An innocent dual meaning question.

"Ah.. no la.."

I know who she works for because her Team Lead were among the people who would give me a tough time in my working history.
She added me on FB twice which I rejected - twice.
Idiots just don't seem to get the point.

She walks pass me looking into my cubicle seeing what I do - without fail.
She peeks into me all the time.

Her Team Lead carries the exact same character and has been doing it for the past 3 years.

At the age of 21 and merely an admin girl in IBM for a couple of months, I wish she knows just where she stands in the office.
I have been ignoring her and her presence.
Even in team meetings, I will never laugh at her jokes. I just pretend not to hear.
My PR is good enough for people not able to read my body language.

Yes, I come in past 10am because I have to bereskan Nyai.
I may go back at 6pm. Maybe earlier. Maybe later.
But I am with my laptop round the clock. I read my mails from home or in a cab or even from any coffee joints.
I am constantly available on my phone. Even my extension is routed to my mobile.
My work turnaround time has been great.

I'm living up the mark of work expectations.

She is the next person who will get some tongue-lashing from me if this persists.
A girl that age who probably just graduated from Poly and never quite work anywhere, my advise to you, grow up but don't try to be worse than an aunty ok.
Mind your own work.

I don't threaten people's ricebowl. It's not Muslim.
But I am capable of letting them know where they stand next to me.

If my boss does not have a problem, what is exactly your problem?
