It was a busy weekend, helping mom running errands before fasting starts.
Also, aside from that, I had a huge project to complete.

Saturday kicked off with me and Mom bringing my baby cousins out with the intention to buy for them Hari Raya shoes at Sengkang Mall.
They had asked for Mac Donald's. Muhammad, the eldest among the 3 ordered a Big Mac.
My eyes were opened wide. I asked him,"Are you sure you can finish a Big Mac?"
He confidently said yes.

Well, he did finish it. I really have to start telling myself that they are growing up.
And I thought I & Lovie were the only ones justified to eat Big Macs.

Still looking after the 3 of them was really tiring, especially when the youngest two were still running around.

In Mac'Donald's, Mom taught Ham(pronounced as "hum") how to play Soduku and adik how to play circle the hidden words.

The youngest one?
He was eating and eating and eating.

and looking over to what his sister is doing.

It really reminded me of the time when I was about their age, Mom would do the same thing to me too.

Here was their shoe shopping spree busy picking out which designs they like.

Here was mom trying to try out a size for Adik.

With me it was different. She had her eyes on the pink platform shoes which I can trully understand a girl's choice that age. But for Hari Raya?!? She is going to get cranky when she is tired.

So I told her that she needs to learn how to put them on herself before mom bought them for her, of which she cant. Hahahaah... lega hati aku... kalau tak so rimas la

I didnt sleep that Saturday night until 8am on a Sunday morning.
Was busy packing all my things into boxes so that I can easily paint them room.
That includes dismantling the bed and clean up all the dust.

Sunday after lunch, I started with the painting.
It was my first time painting and I had Lovie to tell me what to do.
Abang helped me with the ceiling and base coats while I did the corners, cornices and final 2 coats of a 3m by 4m bedroom. That is no joke!
My room is probably as big, if not bigger than a master bedroom in a typical flat.

I was proud that I did a good job on my own. No assistance what-so-ever except abang helped me with the painting.
Everyone was so surprised that the room seemed well done, wondering how I got the energy to do all those.
They were also surprised that the room ended up in the SAME COLOUR
And I have been in a state of denial, telling them it is 1 tone lighter.
How can a cream colour which I wanted looked light yellow on my walls????

Soooooooo sakit hati!

By the time I finished painting and halfway cleaning up the room, it was past 3am.

It was work that very morning. Being so exhausted, I walked into the office at 10am.
Which is quite ok. But Boss called me up when I was in the lift.
"Mima, are you here yet? Have you collected breakfast from Spinelli?"

I was like,"&^^(!!!"
Not to him of course. Then that was when the madhouse started.

Chucked the bag under the desk, get the whole dept into the meeting room and ran up and down getting the necessary food from Spinelli.
By the time I settled down, everyone started eating. Hui being so wonderfully nice as per normal, had my sandwich, eclairs, cream puffs and muffins set aside just for me.

Yes I ate more than most of them in there.

It was all quiet but relaxed atmosphere till the Finance Manager asked across the meeting table
"So is there any news? Like wedding bells or something?"

One of my colleagues who is getting married on 4th Nov pointed to me.
I swear I did choke on my chocolate muffin and Hui had to pat my back. Took a sip of my coffee and tried to catch my breath.

I felt my face turn hot. I rarely blush. You can really count the number of incidents that I do. And a few girls were saying,"Oh my god you are blushing!"

"Haiyah..No la.. I'm not getting married. It is only an engagement"

Then all the questions started bombarding. They asked about Lovie and where I was going to stay. If I was going to leave IBM and when was the wedding. Then they said something which I thought was funny.

"No wonder you started to wear the head dress"

There are people who asked if they will be invited to my engagement. I gave a flat "No".
Setting the right expectations mah...

It was also the same Monday that my whole body was aching and started to fall sick
Tuesday was worse. I could not stay in the meeting room anything more than 30mins because the air con will be too cold for the sick body to take.

Lovie told me to visit the doc but I know my Wed schedule was super packed.
With candidates to interview and meetings to attend, I could not just go on Medical Leave. Lovie turned sour cos he thought I brushed him off.
*hugs*

I promised him that I would visit the doc after all my meetings in Shenton on Wed and stay at home for the week. He didnt buy that either until he called me when I was in the clinic.

So, I did visit the doctor and I did get my Medical Leave covering me for a day.
I was lucky that I had visited one of the panel doctors cos I left my wallet in Changi. Called lil' sis to fetch me.
I didnt even have enough to buy a train ticket cos I had stashed all my loose change in the wallet.

Hungry and sick, I waited for Lil' Sis at Starbucks while trying to finish up my reports.

macam so pathetic kan...

While waiting, I picked up the phone and sms-ed Lovie:
"Baby Love, just a random question which I hope you won't get mad at me. Can I go to work tmr?"

His reply?
"Baby Love, thousands of years ago, a camel was abt to be sold by a wife of a camel merchant. Earlier that day she already promised her husband that she will not sell the camen. Then she sent an sms to her hubby whether she can sell the camel. Hubby got heart attack and died on the spot. I tot its an appropriate story to tell. But in case you missed it, the answer is no"

I didn't know whether I should be stunned or laugh at his long reply. Thousands of years ago ader sms ker?
Probably the hubby got a heart attack cos he saw an sms which was never in the thousands of years ago punya technology.

But yes, I will be staying at home for the day but will still be working though.
So many things to do esp when Friday is my monthly presentation day.

Sad thing is I will not be able to interview a candidate tomorrow. Her name is familiar. Very familiar but I cant seem to put a face to it. What a waste!
Being the interviewer was a very good exposure for me. Cos I know what to expect the next time I am being interviewed. And no - I am not a mean interviewer.
Bottom line, most of the questions asked depends very much on the body language.
*hint*

Mom called and asked me if I wanted a carpet in my room.
2.4 by 3 metres. Beige, light brown & dark brown.
I gave her an immediate yes! I love neutral colours. It's very cooling to the eyes.
When I hung up the phone, I excitedly told Lil' Sis and the first question she asked me was,"How much?"

To be honest, I really dont know.

Ok I am going to take my medication and hit the sack.
To all the Muslims welcoming the first day of fasting, Selamat berpuasa
I was looking forward to fasting this year around but luck wasn't on my side. But then again, it would mean holidays for me during Hari Raya cos I wouldnt need to do, un-do and re-do my make up for abolution.

*tee hee*
