Today I woke up, somehow feeling sick again.
Throat is horrendous and the body is aching.
I have yet to start fasting. I am hoping to start fasting tomorrow, Insya Allah.
Friday I was working from home after the presentation ended in DBS. It was really great cos I need not pick up phone calls at my extension. Still, that night, I sent one of my aunties back to Spain. There's always a funny relationship between aunties and nieces. When you reached a certain age, you can start feeling the warmth and closeness with them.
This was us at the airport that night.
Weekends are nights when I DO NOT seal the night.
I will not sleep overnight. Cleaning up the house, laundry, marketing & grocery shopping and preparing for sahur for the family. And that would mean that I will be waking up at 2pm rushing through the day with other necessary errands. Visiting my grandma, running back and forth to Ikea and Courts, getting milk tea for buka puasa
Saturday afternoon, met up with my wedding planner, finalising 3 places we have in mind for the wedding. Looking at whether we should settle for high tea or dinner. Everything still under discussion. I didn't think it would be so peningkan kepala. Then I realise I would leave it all to the planner, except that I would pick out the final location and colour of the decor.
Mom wants it to be a very malay theme.
Which is good.
Hmmm.. details will come in later when I have finalised on how it is going to be done.
Basically planning to the high level is done and I am comfortable. Shall leave the nitty gritty to mom . But she did tell me,"Ahhh kau nak ini and itu kau siapkan duit ajer lah!"
*smiles*
In the midst of running these errands with the family, we realised that we were short of time to get food ready in time for buka. So off we went to Arab St where they had a mini food bazaar
This is considered mini compared to the one in Geylang.
It is quite disappointing looking at the spread of food. Mine didnt turn out to be quite fantastic.
Here were pics from the trip
After buka and the rest went for prayers, we rushed to Ikea to get my funiture for my room which is currently looking like a refugee camp, only better.
Dad was at Courts looking for a new dryer for us. It is very convenient having megastores side by side. Ikea, Courts and Giant. So so convenient.
Since it was close to closing time, I only finalised by bed items. We had to pull it out from the racks ourselves!
*roll eyes*
Me and bro confirming the items.
After which we had to arrange for delivery.
The whole bedroom set ie bed frame + delivery + fixing charges costed me $700, which I am only going to use for months!!!
We were the last ones leaving Ikea with dad, coming back from Courts, waiting for us at the escalator..
Poor him..
And his children were still monkey-ing around.
There is probably truth in Darwin's Theory.
Then off we went to Geylang Serai Bazaar. A much bigger bazaar than we went earlier. It is nicer there too cos there are many stalls selling food.
I was walking around with food in my hand and ordering more and more everytime.
From goreng pisang to putu piring to char kuay to fishball, etc etc etc.
Ini lah nikmat Ramadhan.. makan tak habis habis!
One side of the brain kept telling myself to keep watching my weight. But the other side of the brain was malfunctioning. And my heart was soothing me, telling me that this is going to be a one time affair.
*groan*
Still, I managed to get a carpet for my
The choosing...
The bargaining, which I left it to the hands of the expert ie mom and dad to save every penny I could.
And here was my choice
Told you the night wasn't sealed off..
We singgah the shop to have drinks, washing down all the oil and trans fat.
The ladies
Ok darlings.. smile for me.
That night, we coincidentally met my 2 other uncles at the shop.
Another of my cousin is getting engaged to a Malaysian girl this coming December. And how we got to know? Cos they asked dad to help book rooms in Melia. As much as my parents are very relenting to make calls & arranging for them, I really hate the fact that my parents are always used for the sake of their own convenience.
*shake head*
nope.. I am not taking back what I said and I am watching.
2008 will be a year full of weddings on my mom's side. Hmmmmm... nope I am not in the race to compete who is getting married earlier than who. Neither am I in the race of whose wedding is more extravagant than who. One to its own. Me to mine. I have my plans and my wedding wish list.
But I do hope that by that time, I can bring Lovie to attend these weddings. Cos it would be a good time for him to see the super-huge family tree.
Anyway, Sunday was satisfying though draggy.
I went to Courts and managed to get a whole bedroom set. Wardrobes from floor to ceiling. Matching bed frame and bedside tables. The best part was I got a super good deal for my mattress.
*gleam*
In total, it costed me very close to $2.5k
Sweeeeet!
The bed I bought in Ikea?
I did a full refund.
Furnitures coming in 2 batches on Saturday!
Wheeeee!!!
This I cant wait!
Next weekend, I am going to find material's for Lovie's engagement gifts.
You couldn't imagine how wonderfully surprised I am when I saw the pics in Lovie's blog.
*trying to gain composure*
I guess we both blew our budget but we know it is worth it.
*blush*
Many many thanks to his mom and sisters who put in a whole lot of effort for it.
No words can ever describe..
*double hugs*
And Lovie, I'm here - always.
It's 2 months to our engagement.
