A first

Last year, my mother-in-law received three grandchildren.
Yeah I know.. what are the odds right?

The family welcomed one in Feb and shortly after that, my SIL and I were pregnant, together. The other two came in December, two weeks apart from each other, making Rania the youngest among the three.

So last week, we celebrated my nephew's birthday at my SIL's place. Nice simple gathering which made me wish I was staying in my own house and I can hold a nice party for my little girl.

At this point of time, I am still thinking of where to hold a party for about 60 pax for Rania's birthday. I am only looking at Alfi's family and foster family (which is already tons!) and about 10 pax from my end. The weather now is not very favourable so my idea of going to the zoo or holding a picnic is not possible.

And I do not want to be wasting my money paying for expensive places for a 1st birthday. It is true that its not as if Rania knows what is going on. It is just a gathering mostly for me and Alfi, celebrating our first year of parenthood (and more to come, Insya Allah!)

So here was the simple warm event we had.
A birthday celebration of a small boy and a big boy.

Pictures were blurred when I snapped and I kept snapping. Frustrated, I asked Alfi,"B, why are all my pictures blur?"
"Clean the lens. Rania was playing with it."

Thanks lil' chick.

Some who just prefers waiting for the cake to be cut and food to be served.

The kids, have been in a way or the other such a spoiler to the party.

Firstly my daughter who refuses to be with anyone and not cooperating in taking pictures.
Then the birthday boy who refuses to have his picture taken with his cousin.

And lastly, the not-birthday-girl who gets to blow the candle twice this year.

But overall, I think we had good fun.

I know it is rare that you see me blogging about my in-laws. But there is always a first to many things.

I'm pretty excited that it is a Friday today. I feel so liberated and happy.
I have set up another date with my cousin who has an adorable newborn and spunky 2 year old who can play with Rania.

Dinner and chill out session for parents and kiddos!
Want to have a playdate with Rania? This mummy is more than happy to let her mingle, so let me know!

Also this weekend, I am on a mission. To take pictures in Black and White.
Something which the hubby loves and I appreciated it lesser than he does but I want to embark on this and start falling in love with it.

Join in the fun taking B&W and be sure to tag #velvetchronicles on IG or email me your B&W pictures! It will surely be up on blog post next week.

Enjoy your weekends!

xoxo
