On Sunday, Dr Yaa'cob Ibrahim kicked off the Singapore Kindness move by giving away yellow daisies to those who have shown any form of kindness.
In his words:
"I think generally Singaporeans don't wake up every morning to become rude. I think with the hustle and bustle of life, sometimes we forget (to be gracious)."
I wanted to laugh my arse off.
Sure they do not wake up to become rude. They may still be dreaming, or worse it is in their blood I must say.
He continued,
"Whether or not we have arrived, I don't think so, but I think we have improved. You see reports of acts of kindness by people in the trains, in the lifts, HDB blocks and there are a lot of people out there doing volunteer work."
No, I don't think we have even improved.
The netizens are not kind to mothers and the elderly. I have heard this before and I am experiencing it now.
As such, I hate taking trains. But then again, who am I to comment.
Just like how I sincerely asked my girlfriend,"How come we do not have HFMD during our time?"
Her reply?
"Because that time no PRC."
*lol*
The hindsight is that we have to deal with Pinoys & PRCs. Not to mention the Indonesians of which we have little social problem with them except that they are spoilt rich brats and makes equally a lot of noise.
Don't blame Singaporeans' tolerance level. Importing them in was never our option of a booming economy.
And in Marine Parade GRC, I also saw in the news SM Goh Chok Tong picking up litter.
I was surprised, only to hear someone behind me said,"I can't believe we paid him so much to do that kind of job."
How can I not roll n the floor laughing?
