Sponsored: Footloose Movie Preview

Thursday, October 27, 2011

I jumped at the opportunity when OMY Blog offered me to watch the preview of Footloose.
Actually, it was a no brainer and no pre-planning as to who I will be watching it with.

Of course by default, my date will be the husband but he had spent the evening with his private students, preparing for their 'O' Levels Mathematics paper.
My dearest mom was more than happy to come and view it with me.
She is a movier go-er.

I tell you why watching Footloose was a no brainer.
A movie in the 80s, the original soundtrack is still evergreen. Not to mention that Kevin Bacon's dance moves were hot!
The song is super catchy right from the very first beat.

When it comes to the Footloose, I wish I was staying in the States and being in their era. Or maybe THAT era.
Fashion era in the 80s and 90s are maybe the wierdest that you have ever seen.

But I can relate to the lyrics. It is all about giving yourself a break from your daily lifestyle and just breathing it out.

The movie showing this year is no different. I was tapping my feet to the opening of the movie for the first 5 minutes till a tragedy struck.
I learnt a new word though through the movie.
"Boner Killer"
In Malay, we would have said it as potong steam. So I will not be the boner killer and tell you what happens during the movie.

But do expect better fashion sense.
I love those boots, mini skirts and hot pants in the movie and yes the toned bodies.
Better hairstyles too!
*lol*

Watch the 80s music video of Footloose and tell me it does get you grooving!

I will still tap my feet under the desk listening to the song. In fact, at home in my own room I shamelessly tapped my feet during part of the song with this huge tummy of mine, in front of the husband.
He will just be shaking his head.

And if you didn't know, my Little Rania was dancing during the whole movie especially during the dance parts.
Mom turned to me and asked,"Anak kau tengah joget?"
(Your daughter's dancing?)

I laughed.
I am glad she enjoys Mummy's music taste.

Oh yes, the new cast duplicated the Footloose dance PERFECTLY!
I left the theatre smiling and lightened up.
Go loosen up and get tickets to the show! You may just be dancing away in your seat!

xoxo,
