The Wedding Reception at Raffles Town Club - Part 1

Monday, December 6, 2010

I was working on the wedding pictures the whole time and realised that there are too many pictures to be placed in a single blog entry.
Here will be the first part of the reception on 7th November 2010 at Raffles Town Club - finally!!!

I got punked on the local Malay Radio Station on the morning of my wedding reception.
Apparently, the deejay tried to call me at 8am onwards but no one heard the phone rang
*lol*
Pengantin masih membuter!

But I did wake up at 9am, made myself a cup of coffee so that I will look perked up on my wedding day.
On that day, time seems to fly so fast!
The function was from 11am to 5pm but me & the husband only came down at 1.15pm for our first march-in.

We drove our wedding Cooper up and was surprised that there are so many people waiting at the foyer, mainly the husband's side who accompanied us into the ballroom.

I was just smiling ear to ear....
Oh well.. I was just smiling like that the whole day that is is quite embarassing to be caught on everyone's camera so animated.
*lol*

There was us on the way up from Raffes Town Club basement to the foyer.
The kompang team was also waiting for us..

Here we are, ready to go!
:)

And right as we expected, there was a group of my aunties who were already waiting at the huge doors of the ballroom!
I just could not help laughing!

Finally we got in!!!
:)

Then we had the silat to welcome us as husband and wife.

Guess what happen when we were seated?
The silat didnt start until my mak andam whispered to say that me and Alfi sat at the wrong seats.
I gave out a huge laugh and apologised that it was my first time.
I was so relieved when my guests laughed with me!

*lol*

Caught on camera!

Then once the silat completed, we moved to our dias only find the bridesmaids and my darling maid of honour made another gantry in right in front of the dias.

With so many girls asking for the envelope, what they did not know was that there was only ONE $50 envelope with the best man.
No one even to the $10 tier.
*lol*
After the wedding, when we told them about the bag of money we had, they regretted like there is no tomorrow.
In fact, we really did give in to their demands very easily.
All Alfi did was nod, yet they did not get the cue.

*lol*

The event was followed by a marvellous kompang performance done by Sri Wana

They also presented to us 2 Malay dance items by 4 cute little girls and of course my lovely bridesmaids, maid of honour ad one cute mak ayam did their dance! :)

The ballroom was quite huge and Alhamdulillah we managed to have a live feed of the event so that everyone can enjoy the moments with us.

Here are the rest of the events to share with.

I will be back with the final part of the reception which showcases another outfit and another gelagat.
Insya Allah, there will be more pictures to see when I get the official pictures from my photographer.

Let's hope the next entry will not come in too late!
:)
