Scones craze!

Monday, January 25, 2010

My mother said I am mean to be posting up pictures of what I bake on Facebook.
She does not know that I have a blog because she thinks people write only personal things on the blog.
So better not let her pikir macam macam.

Anyway, I only started baking probably 4 months ago.
I am known to think that I will make a hopeless housewife and other people's daughters are a catch.
People do have a rigid mentality about me. I do not want to blame them as much as I do not want to change their mindset.
Being a housewife is not a race.
Plus I don't practice comparing who is better than who.

Trust me, a lot of people think I am only capable of excelling academically, finding a good job and have the rest of the things done for me.
Heh.
All did not come by without a struggle.

For the record, during the past 3 weeks that I was unemployed, I made my bed and clean up my room 80% of the time.
Ironed my clothes once.
*lol*

Ok back on track.
People are now amazed that I can bake and make nice desserts.
It was just the determination to get them done better and tastier and that became an addiction.

I have a lot of girlfriends who got married without knowing anything and yet did not need the Survival Guide to being a Housewife.

So here is the bake of the day.

Cranberry Scones

My advise is to start with something simple.
Always get the basics right.

I started off with plain scones which I modified till it became nice.
Then it went on to raisin scones.
(I baked 43 mini scones on Saturday and it was all gone within hours)
Today cranberry scones.

Next?
Blackcurrant scones
Blueberry Buttermilk scones

My cousin makes brownie muffins and it is very nice.
I will go back to my muffins in time.
I am dreaming of my oreo cheesecake. Toblerone cheesecake.
Quiches

There is really a lot to explore.

Want samples?
Its for free. No obligation to purchase also.
It is on goodwill that I do not want to have people salivate seeing my pictures.
