Stir Fry Garlic Chicken Recipe

Friday, April 3, 2015

Being in my own place now means that I can no longer say,"Mum, I feel like eating...."

Now, if there is something I would like to eat, I better find a place that serves the dish or cook it up on my own.

On another note, being a housewife with 3 young children while juggling an online business is no joke.
Some wonder why I still employ a domestic worker.

I tell you why.

I cannot possibly look into my orders daily, launch products, take pictures, handle the kids, cook and clean all in a day. I need my dose of heading out of the house, getting fresh air, even it means just getting a cup of decaf coffee.

So I leave the cleaning to the helper, though I will still clean up again after her.

With time of an essence, I am a fan of putting everything in a single dish. Meat and vegetables.

As promised to my Facebook friends, here is the recipe for my stir fry garlic mushroom.

Serves 3-4 pax

300g of chicken breast
1/2 cabbage thinly sliced
1/2 pkt of Xiao bai Cai
1 onion
4 tbsp garlic*
1/2 tbsp ginger*
1 cube Knorr vegetable stock
2 tbsp osyter sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
Salt to taste

* I always keep ginger and garlic, already blendered for ease of cooking.

Method:
1. Cut the chicken breast into cubes and mix it with a tbsp of garlic and a pinch of salt. Fry the chicken until meat is cooked and drain chicken.

2. With the same wok and oil, add on the onions, garlic, ginger and chopped chilli if you like, and fry until fragrant.

3. Mix in the chicken and add the osyter sauce, sesame oil and vegetable stock into the wok.

4. Add in the cabbage and Xiao Bai Cai  and stir well. (Sometimes I omit the Xiao Bai Cai)

5. Salt to taste and garnish with spring onions and fried shallots.

Best eaten with sunny side up eggs. To those who would like to add up a little more spice to the dish, I will thinly slice some garlic and cut green chilli padi and soak them in fish sauce.

Definitely a winner!

Happy cooking and if this recipe is a winner or if there is anything you have tweaked, do share with my readers!

Hell yeah I cook!
