Thursday morning, the maid was screaming and running up the stairs.
I jumped up from my bed like a spring.
She was half crying just saying,"Nyai nyai"
I rushed down. It was 8am.
The time I would wake up to help her with her morning shower.
Nyai was seated at her commote (not COMOT) looking stiff with her eyes rolled up and no control of her tongue.
Lucky Lil' Sis rushed down with me.
For 10 seconds I was very stunned not knowing what to do.
Kept asking Lil' Sis what to do.
Thing with me is that I could not think when I can't see.
(I didn't have the time to pick up my specs)
Called the ambulance and instructed the maid to help Nyai up the bed.
While Lil' Sis and the maid helped Nyai get dressed again, there mom came running down crying and screaming.
We tried to revive her consciousness.
Mom took her blood pressure which was a bit low and I was upstairs changing into my jeans.
Pulled a jacket, belit my long head dress and gargled Listerine and rushed down.
Paramedics on bike came first to attend, and soon after the ambulance.
They rushed her to the hospital and I followed in the front seat.
I had to remain calm cos everyone was so panicky.
Smsed the Boss that I could not attend the 11am meeting and requested for it to be postponed.
He was kind enough to have it pushed to 2pm.
Turns out Nyai had a seizure.
Medically, the seizure was due her previous stroke.
Oxygen was unable to flow through a certain part of her brain which caused inactivity.
The team doctors said we did a good job.
Alhamdulillah.
They were amazed since the last admission, Nyai had a stage 4 bed sore.
Today, it is only a size of a 50-cent coin.
Good news is that Nyai can be discharged today but we shall make proper arrangements for her to come home tomorrow.
Yes, we are just so estatic to have her back.
I went to work today feeling that the house is so empty.
Just for $3 (since Nyai is a pensioner), it was worth the checks and ease of our minds that she was in good hands of doctors.
There is a reason why I am blogging this up.
In time, this will be known by people through word of mouth - undoubtedly.
Just don't pretend not to know about the admission.
It's always best to get straight to the point.
Let's just say that it's best not to make yourself look like an idiot because I am not that stupid.
I can read your words and actions from afar.
Yes, I was brought up and grew up in a cruel world.
It is dirtier than you can ever imagine.
