2 weeks before Mom's birthday, I decided to hold for her a surprise birthday party.
The challenge was that her birthday falls on a Monday.
On the other hand, she and her cousins are itching to meet up and chillax.

So I picked out a date.
18th April 2009, Saturday.

Then I had to look for sponsors.
I called up a few aunties. Thanks to them, they helped me handle the dessert portion.
Brownie, Cocktail Jelly & Apam Makuke (I think they spelt it that way)

Perfect Stranger took care of the birthday cake and drinks.

The best one was the project champion.
He paid for all the food.

I was just the organiser and the host.

Time set - 6pm

Me and dad purposely set up a time for Lil' Sis to take her studio convocation picture on Saturday 5pm.
The minute Lil' Sis, mom and dad went out of the house, relatives started streaming in, helping me prepare whatever that we needed to.

We only had 90 mins
(Dah macam soccer game la kan!)

Perfect Stranger was our camera man for half of the time. Thank god he was there cos he so boleh harap!

Here was prior mom's return from accompanying Lil' Sis at the photoshoot.

Then we were all waiting anxiously for her to come home.

And when she did, Perfect Stranger managed to capture the perfect shot of her

And everyone else after they shouted,"Surprise!"

It took her really a long time to get over the surprise.

Apparently, as what we knew even the day after, she was still in shock through the night that she could not sleep..
Haiyoh mommyyyyy... dah macam budak kecik!

Yes, it is her first surprise birthday party la!!

The party?
It was 'wild'.
Many feedback that it was 'fun'. 'syiok', 'best', 'exciting', 'thrilling'

It was so easy to have the kids lining up in the kitchen so that we could sing for Mom the birthday song.
I just need to call out for them once!
Isn't that fantastic!

Here was all of us singing to Mom and the April babies and those celebrating their anniversaries in the month of April.

Here were our antics for the night.
It didnt matter that the night was super warm and humid.
It didn't matter than 3 fans in the house was not enough, everyone had fun.

The kids went to my room to prepare a song act for my mom.

Mom was so estatic and came down with $2 notes to give the kids.
In fact, she lured them more and say,"Ok siapa nyanyikan Wak Ima dapat $2"

Aper lagi.. semangat la budak-budak nie...

Hmmm jangan cakap budak-budak, mak nenek, mak budak and bakal mak budak
stood up and starting singing 'I will survive', 'Born to be Wild', 'Grease'

It was really so funny...
Didn't matter that we did not get our $2.
*pouts*

When it was all over and most of the crowd went back, the rest stayed in up to almost 3am.

Thank you daddy for making it all possible.

To mommy,
I am glad you enjoyed your birthday party and still putting all the gifts on your television so that you will wake up in the morning seeing your gifts.

Thank you for complimenting us girls melambung-lambung which we really didnt need. It was enough to see the smiles on your face. However, thank you for appreciating our efforts.

Wishing you a great birthday, long and healthy life with loads of wealth and happiness.

We love you mom.
